Autumn Limited

Step aboard the Autumn Limited for a classic fall experience at the Monticello Railway Museum on September 26th and 27th. Guests will enjoy a 50-minute relaxing train ride through the scenic Central Illinois countryside, offering the perfect backdrop for a memorable seasonal outing.

After your train ride, visit our pumpkin patch where every ticket includes one pumpkin to take home. Ticket holders will have access to all on-site activities throughout the day, so you're welcome to arrive early or stay after your scheduled train ride to enjoy everything the event has to offer. Explore the museum grounds, take part in family-friendly activities, and enjoy delicious food vendors.

Ticket Options

Coach Class – $22 per person

Ride in one of our historic passenger coaches and enjoy a relaxing excursion through the countryside. Perfect for families and groups looking to experience the sights and sounds of autumn by rail. Price is per rider, age 2 and up. Children under the age of 2 must ride on an adult's lap or must have their own ticket to receive a pumpkin. Your Coach Class ticket includes:

  • Scenic train ride

  • One pumpkin for each ticketed rider

  • Access to all on-site activities, including hayrack rides, barrel train rides, pedal cars, and bounce houses

Private Caboose Cruise – $300

Make your Autumn Limited experience even more memorable by reserving your own private caboose. Accommodating up to 12 guests, the Private Caboose Cruise is the perfect choice for families, friends or any group looking to enjoy a unique day.

Enjoy the scenic journey through the beautiful Central Illinois countryside from the comfort of your exclusive caboose. Every passenger receives a pumpkin, and your group will also enjoy full access to all of the day's activities, including hayrack rides, barrel train rides, pedal cars, bounce houses, and food vendors.
